5 Steps Diabetics Can Take to Have a Great Day

Diabetes is an all-consuming disease that should in no way ever be oversimplified.

But, I’m going to do it in this post, anyway.

Most of the research about type 2 diabetes that exists today actually has lots to say about how to manage it and even reverse it. It all comes down to the same things, over and over again.

While I understand that it may cost you a bit of comfort, effort, time, and even pride, wouldn’t you want to make your life better if there was a way with almost 100% certainty to do so?

It’s all pretty affordable, too!

So, when you wake up in the morning, make yourself a hefty intention of kicking this type 2 diabetes in the you-know-what. Then, get started on these 5 steps.

*Cautionary note: Please also follow the advice and prescriptions of your medical professional!

Step 1: Get better sleep

Getting a better night’s rest can seriously help you regulate your blood glucose levels throughout the day. For a sound sleep, remove all distractions from your room and try not to look at any screens the hour before. Take 10 deep breaths to help set your vagus nerve for sleep. Give yourself enough time to sleep for at least 8 hours and wake up when you feel rested.

Step 2: Start your day with a green smoothie

There are so many delicious green smoothies out there that you can certainly find one that you like. By starting your day with a health booster smoothie, you are starting your day with a full serving of fruits and vegetables. You can also take in all of the vitamins and minerals at once, setting your digestion, brain, and blood for the day.

Step 3: Practice deep breathing

The vagus nerve sends messages between the body and the brain so that it can prepare to complete whatever task is needed. That means it plays a huge role in calming the heart rate and blood pressure. You can easily do this with some deep breathing. A calmer heart helps you get through stressful events more swiftly.

Step 4: Try meditation

Meditation is a surefire way to reduce inflammation. Diabetes is a disease of inflammation, which causes major damage to the blood vessels. Try an online guided meditation exercise to get started.

Step 5: Go for a 30-minute walk

Walking significantly lowers your blood glucose levels throughout the day, at least enough to prevent any major spikes. Controlling your blood glucose will significantly improve all of your diabetes symptoms.

By incorporating these steps into your daily routine, you will be supporting your body in the combat against diabetes.
