To save you from breaking your weight scale, here are four cooking tips that can help keep your waist slim.
No Butter. Butter is not your only option for moist cake-like recipes. Substitute butter (totally or partially) with applesauce, banana, pureed dates, Greek yogurt, or avocado. You may need to tweak the amount of dry ingredients in your recipes.
Chia seeds, oat bran, wheat germ. Full of fibers, vitamins, and minerals, go crazy with your baking recipes with these undetectable food products!
Sour cream, mayonnaise. Substitute them with Greek yogurt in your favorite desserts.
Whipped cream. Have you heard of aquafaba? Aquafaba is the leftover cooking liquid of pulses and is taking the vegan world by storm. Whipping up the liquid from canned beans will give you the same result as whipped cream (or whipped egg whites) without the extra calories. If you can’t go without the rich taste of whipped cream, do half/half.
