Nuts contain unsaturated “good fats,” fiber, protein, magnesium, potassium, calcium and bioactive substances beneficial to health. They contain polyunsaturated fatty acids and omega-3 which are considered healthy fats promote cardiovascular health and diabetes. Additionally, these grains are excellent sources of antioxidants and fiber. They are also known to contain melatonin, phytosterols, arginine, which are all essential for health.

By combining them with fruit, raw vegetables or yogurt, they are also an excellent choice for a nutritious snack. Indeed, the proteins and the fibers contained in the this food are satiating. This avoids craving that leads to consumption of sugary foods.
